Christmas at moms.

Christmas day we went to my moms house. All nine grandkids were there so it was alot of fun for the kids. My mom set up a story of christmas play. The charactors were puppets made of felt. The kids would each have a part and then after each speaking part we would all sing christmas songs. It was really cute.
After the play, we ate dinner. Avery was so tired he fell asleep at the table.

This is a picture of the quilt that my mom made for avery. I had requested for her to make a "cowboy" theme blanket for him. I wanted a retro look at first but when we were looking at fabric, we saw these patterns and i think they look really cute together. The boot in the middle is made of this cool fabric that looks like leather. My mom made the boot herself. The back of the blanket is that soft fabric with the little bumps on it ( forgot the name) I am so thankful that my mom is so talented. All my kids have been made a blanket from her.


Everytime we go to my moms house antoine sits down in the chair and falls asleep. We all laugh at him. I thought i would use my new camera and take some pitcures this time. Merry Christmas!!!!!

Christmas 2008

Yay!!! Christmas is finally here. We have been waiting so long. This is Ashleys first year of really understanding who Santa is, and WHat happends on christmas. SheShe woke up her old cranky self until we told her that santa came and she got to open her presents now. She quickly turned her bad attitude around and was hyper the rest of the day. She loved all the toys she got and THREW the clothes she opened.

This was avery's first christmas this year. He actually seemed to like to open presents. He got a bunch of toys but they seemed to have all been taken over by ashley 5 minutes after he opened them.

All Taitlynne wanted this year was toys. (barbies at that, yeah shes 11!?!?!?)
She got a bunch of high school musical dolls, playdough, clothes, shoes, and a craft box, gift cards a bed set. Next week she will have another christmas at her dads house. (lucky her)

knotts

This year i decided to take the kids to knotts for the Toys for Tots drive. I didnt know what to expect since we have never been. I thought it would be way overcrowded miserable.

Antoine got off work that morning and was going to sleep for a couple hours before meeting us there, so i invited one of taitlynnes friends to come along. I knew it would be much fun for taitlynne since i was stuck with the kids by myself.

The park was actually NOT crowded (not till the late afternoon anyways) We saw the parade, the snoopy ice show, and I walked around with the kids while Taitlynne and her friend was in the lines for the rides.

Santa was gone everytime we went to see him, so that was a bummer.

I think we may make this a yearly tradition.

Thanksgiving

I know a little late, but i just got a camera and now i'm able to post some pictures up that we took over thanksgiving.

This year we went to Antoines Aunts house for Thanksgiving. We dont get to see her much since she lives in the high desert, so we thought we would spend this holiday with her.

Afterwards, we went to my moms house to spend time with the family and have some desert.

This is what happends when you leave a package of oreo cookies on the floor.

I guess i wasnt watching avery well enough. I looked up and he was munch-in away on some oreos that ashley got out of the pantry. I thought it was too cute and had to take some pictures.

Last night i decided to "make some memories" and bake some halloween sugar cookies with the kids. Ashley was having alot of fun eating the colored sugar, as you can see. Taitlynne made a couple but then left me to finish them all.

The cookies turned out really good. I had to give almost all of them to Taitlynne to take to school so I would not eat them. I do not have that kind of will power to sit and look at them all day........Yum

Time to Carve the pumpkin!!!

So, I finally gave in to Taitlynne. She has been begging to carve our pumpkin since last week, but I have been to lazy to let her do it. Last night i promised we would do it today.

And, After one punctured finger and 3 tantrums later.........

Halloween party

Tonight we went to my moms church for "Trunk-or-treating". It was really fun. All thekids liked it alot. They had dinner, games, and a costume parade. My parents took my nephews and I went with Amber and brianna (Taitlynnes sister). Ashley and Avery were knocked out on the way home. They had a long, but fun day. Ashley Is so protective over her bag of candy that she got. She HAD to go to sleep with it right next to her...........great.

We had a fun filled day today. We started out by going to Tanaka Farms. This is the first time that I have been here and I liked it alot. The favorite part of the day was probly the petting zoo. Ashley LOVED this part. We went on the tractor ride around the farms. Half way through they had a pumpkin shoot, Where they shot a pumpkin out of a cannon. It was a hot day and just as we were getting ready to leave. ashley had one of her "throw herself on the ground" tanrums. about this time I knew it was time for a nap, so we quickly left. all in all, I was a fun start to our day. I will definately go again next year.

This weekend we went across the street to the firehouse. They were having an open house. Now, Ashley LOVES LOVES LOVES firetrucks (for some reason) but when we got there she was so shy. SHe only screamed when we put her in the firetruck. That is why I dont have any pics of her. The fireman let us do whatever we wanted. we got to go in both firetrucks, see their beds, living area, ambulance and fire gear. It was really fun. I think antoine had the most fun of all though. For sure we will go again next year when ashley is older and avery knows what is going on. He had not a clue, but loved his fire helmet they gave him.

Halloween

Taitlynne decided she was going to be a Maid after looking for 3 HOURS for a costume. We finally found this one. I thought the headband looked a little dumb with the white part around the whole head. so i cut it of a little. NOW I wish i didnt cut it, It looked cuter the other way. Oh well, taitlynne didnt saw anything, so were good. ha ha.

Here is Ashleys halloween costume. This is VERY rare that i got her to smile. I guess she is coming out of her shell. SHe actually would model it for me........Im still shocked.

I bought Averys costume about a month ago and i just tried it on for the first time today. Its a little small. As you can see, he has so much hair, you cant even see the hat. I think im going to have to go buy some ears to go with it.
